Career Time at Tutoring Session

I tutor students for an hour once a week. The director asked the volunteer teachers to speak about their careers. An engineer from Bell Helicopter showed slides of aircraft he worked on. I talked about my four careers, teaching in public school and in a federal prison, doing research for a mincemeat company, working as a paralegal and writing lawsuits for the EPA, and writing books. In the picture I am demonstrating how a mincemeat made from a certain formula had to stay in the piepan when raised to a ten-degree angle, because a baker sent the filled pie DSCN1099_990pans up a ramp. I also showed samples of my books, There IS Life After Lettuce, a cookbook for heart patients and diabetics, Romancing the Gold, Hiding from Love, Protected by Love, and Tempted by Love. In addition, I had an orange, a can of raisins, and an apple there as samples of ingredients used in making mincemeat.
