Delicious Dishes won’t hurt your waistline

For a simple dessert, try fresh strawberries with a little sugar and Cool Whip.  For two servings follow directions below.

8 medium strawberries, cut up, sprinkle 2 Tablespoons sugar or 3 packages of Sweet ‘n Low.  (I use one tablespoon sugar and 2 packages of Sweet ‘n Low.) Mix at least ten minutes before serving. Spoon 2 Tablespoons Cool Whip on top before serving.

Oatmeal in a Flash

Make your own instant oatmeal in the microwave and save money and a trip to the store.  Use a microwave safe bowl and the following ingredients.

  • 1/3 cup quick cooking oatmeal
  • 2/3 cup tap water
  • 1-2 tablespoons raisins
  • 1-2 tablespoons pecan or walnut pieces
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon if desired.
  • 6 shakes salt

Microwave for one minute on high. Stir, add milk and sweetener to taste.
